1. the internet is more useful and the television isn't used in businesses and school as much as the internet

2. companies can advertise their products on websites that provide applications and music such as itunes. they can also sponsor apps

3. 55-65 year olds because the companies can now post products that this age group enjoys on social media sites

4. the companies can tweet out sales and new trends coming out. they can have specials for followers such as print out coupons.

5. social networking sites see your age and interests and place ads on your site depending on demographics

6. means that people are posting everything on social media sites are trying to see whether certain people buy their product or not

1. I think it took the internet a shorter time to get 50 million users because most people already had a computer at that time, so all they had to do is conenct to it.

2. I think sales would increase since the amount of downloads have increased by a lot more.

3. 55-66 year old females.

4. Twitter is important becasue if someone has a bad experience, then everyone watching that person's post will head about it. So companies have to be more careful.

5. Social network ads use what you post and determine what ad's to show around the web page that pertain to things you say on your site.

6. "People Driven Economy" means that people will decide what they want to buy and will advertise companies they like, while others take into consideration what others say and more than likely listen to that opinion over an advertisement.

1. Because with the internet not only could we search and find information. We can also contact others via email and multitask.
2. Companies can advertise their product on the sites that sell music and apps like itunes. They can also sponsor certain apps to get their name around.
3. 56 -65 year old females. This is important because companies can now post products that this age group likes on social media sites and attract more business.
4. Companies can announce their new products in a tweet that everyone can see. Even add a link with further description and images.
5. Prodcuts will find you because some companies on social media will see your age and place ads. They can also see what you like to do or wear and place advertisements accordingly.
6. People are posting things that help determine what is in style and how the product would sale.

1. Because the internet is new technology, and people want to use this new technology; through social media, sports, and news.

2. Companies see a whole new business through music/apps in the iTunes industry. If they introduce an app/song for $.99, a lot of people will buy it for that low of a price.

3. 56-65 females. Companies can advertise products for this age group on the internet and attract more business.

4. It's a quick and short message that people might read. People don't like reading a huge text advertisement; but if the company uses Twitter, they can get a short message to a lot of people that will read it.

5. On social media sites, they might ask you to put in your information column what kind of products/technology you may like. Then companies can go into the social media site and see people who likes certain products that their company makes.

6. People are posting comments that help other people determine what is in style and how the product would behave in the real world.

6:people can change the way that economy flows

1. I think the Internet gained users so much faster than television because the Internet is cheaper and because it is easier to get the information you need.
2. I think the companies that offer music, video, and other down loadable apps to customers would increase because downloads are becoming so popular.
3.The fastest growing mark,et segment on facebook is 55-66 year old females. We care about this information because it is opening up another group for companies try to appeal to.
4.It is so important for companies that sell products online or in retail stores because people will post their experience on Twitter and other people will have access to what they said about that store. That will affect peoples views on that store.
5.In the future products will find you because people will post about them on Facebook or Twitter and it will be accessable to you. You can then read about them and research them because you heard about it.
6.I think "People Driven Economy" means that the economy is affected by how people communicate and what they say about companies.

1. I think that the internet gained users so much faster because all you can do with a televison in watch shows and movies. With the internet, you can watch shows and movies, online shop, email, look up information, and so much more! The internet gives you many more options.

2. I think the ramifications for companies that offer music, video and other downloadable apps to customers are that they aren't getting as many in-store customers to purchase their other products.

3. The fastest growing market segment on Facebook is women from ages 55-66. This is important because people of this age are not comfortable with technology so someone concerened with online commerce would want to find a way to make this segment of people comfortable with using the websites and have it easy for them to understand.

4.I think twitter being the new word of mouth advertising on the internet is important for companies that sell products online or in a retail store because this gives them a new way to communicate to their customers and offer promotions, coupons, etc.

5. Products will find us because there are so many things posted on social networking sites about products that it has become a way of us to be introduced to those products. People post about good/bad experiences with these products which can lead to us decided to purchase them or not.

6. I think "People Driven Economy" means that since people are posting so much stuff on social networking sites, it will determine whether other consumers decide to buy those products or not based on their peers' experiences.

4. If they dont please customers they may talk about bad experiences online.

5. In ad's online and through games.

6. Everything that happens to the economy is a result of somthing someone did.

Blake Balbirnie said...

1. Because it was a much more capable piece of technology than a tv.

2. They are able to reach more customers which means they make more money in the end.

3. 55-66 year old females.

4. Because it provides a much broader form of advertising, so it reaches more people around the world instead of just one market.

5. Someone might post a suggestion or a review of a product on your wall, or they might even tweet at you.

6. It means the customers have the most say of what happens in the economy because if tons of people give a product a bad review not as many people will end up buying that product.

Internet is more affordable and there are more things that people can do with the internet.

2. Ipod downloads hit 1billion in a nine month span. What do you think are the ramifications for companies that offer music, video and other down loadable apps to customers?
The sales of music, video, and other downloadable apps would have increased dramatically and the companies profit would have skyrocketed.

3. Who is the fastest growing market segment on Facebook? As someone who is concerned with online commerce why do we care about this information?
55-66 year old females because they are finding out what a great way it is to communicate with grandchildren, friends, family.

4. Twitter is the new word of mouth advertising on the Internet. Why do you think this is so important for companies that sell product online or in a retail store?
Twitter users who have many followers could have a huge impact on the companies sales depending on what they say about the companies product.

5. Explain how products will find you in the future or even now?
Products will find me in the future or even now via social networking

6. What do you think "People Driven Economy Means"?
The people have the most influence on the companies and products so therefore they have the most influence on the economy. So they might hear something good or bad about a product and depending on what they think is how the economy will fluctuate or not.

1. The internet has gained so many users so fast because it's more than entertainment, unlike tv. There are thousands of uses including communication, recreation, research, and finding the latest news. Can you do all that with just a television, and instantly?

2. Everyone nowadays is using itunes and other music/video websites. You can get music instantly and sometimes for free instead of having to go to Best Buy and buying a CD.

3. The fastest growing market segment on facebook is women between 55 - 66. This is because they are now using this to communicate with cousins, grandchildren, old classmates, etc.

4. Companies use Facebook and Twitter to advertise and communicate awareness. They want people such as teenagers and adults to know about their business or restaurant.

5. I see a lot of advertisements over the internet via facebook, twitter, and yahoo. I believe in the future more and more companies will use the internet to advertise job openings, coupons, etc.

6. A people driven economy means the people decide what they want. Companies make products to satisfy the consumers need.

1. The Internet gained users faster than television because a lot of people already owned computers so it was much more capable. The Internet also had lots of ways of communicating and advertising that the television didn't.

2. Companies that offer music, video, and other downloadable apps can earn a lot of money if they charge for downloads on the Internet, but many people can rip them off by stealing the music or apps illegally.

3. 55-66 year old females because they are not as comfortable with the Internet as young people and this is important because it shows where to target the advertising to ensure the market continues growing.

4. Twitter is important for companies because it is a very easy way to get in touch or advertise to a lot of people at the same time. This is also important because people can review companies through twitter either very negatively or positively, so customer service is important.

5. Products will find you in the future by advertisements on the Internet or social networking sites such as Youtube or Facebook.

6. A "People Driven Economy" means that people can control how the economy works by giving negative or positive reviews for products or businesses.

Hayley Conyers said...

1)I think the Internet gained users faster because it provided more opportunities than television; the user can do almost anything online.
2)After providing a service or a product (video, music, etc.), the user can instantly post their feelings about the product on any social media site. If they happen to have a negative experience and they choose to share it, then the company could lose business.
3)The fastest growing market segment on Facebook is women ages 55-65. Companies interested in online commerce could post ads that are relevant to that age group. Also, ads that have already been released can be reworked to appeal to the older viewers.
4)Companies can take advantage of Twitter to create a page and post deals and new products. Also, if someone has a good experience with their company, they can receive more business.
5)Facebook suggests sites and companies that would interest me. I'm sure that, in the future, more and more sites will take advantage of that feature. Companies could have the user complete a survey of their interests and provide products/services that match their answers.
6)"People Driven Economy" means that the public's opinions and interests are mirrored by companies. Businesses need to look at what people want to be able to provide a profitable service/product. Economics are now based more on want than on need.

Austin Wagner said...

2. The ramifications for companies include increased business profit, because people like to download things, including music, video, etc.

3. 55 - 66 females, because this shows that even older generations are starting to accept new technology.

4. It is important for companies to have a facebook or twitter, because it can help the company attract more attention and be more successful.

5. Products will find us, not the other way around. Because we belong to so many social networking sites, we are exposed to advertisements all the time.

6. the economy is driven by the economy because we make the decisions if we want to buy a product.

1. The reason televison took so many years to abtain 50 million viwers is because the customer cannot choose what they want to watch whereas on the internet you can choose which website you want to go to and when.

2. After Ipod downloads hit 1 billion, other companies the offered music, video, and other down loadable apps probably went out of buissness because of how popular the Ipod is.

3. The fastest growing market segment on Facebook is 55-60 year old females. We care about this information because then we have a target audience for online products.

4. Twitter is very important for companies that sell product online or in a retail store because people will talk about buisnesses whether they are good or bad.

5. Products find you now or in the future because people will post about products so you dont have to go out looking for products that have good reviews.

6. People driven economy means means that the people choose what products are popular so in a way they choose which products should be made in the future.

1. I think the Internet took only four years to gain 50 million viewers because the generation was more open to the idea of new technology and the spread of the new technology was significantly faster.
2. I think that music, video, and other app companies became very populare after the Ipod came out. People were looking to download lots of music and movies and apps. A negative effect would be more rules to regulate all the download companies.
3. The fastest growing market for facebook is 55-60 year old females. This occuring because they re just now becoming comfortable with the idea of social media. This changes the advertising on facebook to target the middle aged women.
4. Companies can be affected by what people say about thier product on twitter. If someone says something negative everyone on thier twitter feed will see and take into consideration the comment about the product.

3.

55-66 year old females. Companies that sell products to older generations must now do so through different channels then they are used to.

4.

If someone has a bad experience with a product they will post about it and cause companies to lose more potential customers.

5.

companies will track your internet activity and banner ads would be targeted at you based on that.

6.
Advertising is less effective that what people post on sites, so companies will need to please consumers to promote their product instead of advertising.

4. Twitter is so important for companies that sell products online or in retail stores because if a bad review goes out on twitter then everyone will know about it and won't go there. However, it can be good if a person writes a good review.

5. Products will find us in the future on the internet to advertise the newest products, openings, etc..

6. People driven economy means that people control the market. If people like a new product then everyone will switch to it and take old products out of business

Andi Johnson said...

1. The Internet has a wider range of uses than the television. With the Internet, people can search for information, get tickets, and communicate with people. You can only watch informing or entertaining shows on a television.

2. The companies would gain a huge profit from the number of downloads of each app, video, and song. Unfortunately, though, they have to get permission from the artist or creator to host their song/app/video, and must give them some of the profit. With the way technology is evolving now though, many people try to get stuff for free, which results in a lower profit for the companies.

3. Fifty-five to sixty-five year old women are the fastest growing market segment on Facebook. It is important to know so companies can create advertisements and products geared towards this audience.

4. They can advertise their products on Twitter, and all of their followers can spread the word to their friends. It's a quick and easy way to advertise, and word of mouth will help spread the news too.

2. Companies that offer music, video, and other down loadable apps have to watch out for the opinions of buyers. Posts on social media sites can greatly impact the successfulness of their business. 3.Females ages 55-65 is the fastest growing market segment on Facebook because they've figured out the usefulness of Facebook in communicating with their children/grandchildren. As someone who is concerned with online commerce, we care about this information because the audience we're trying to reach on the internet is changing, and we need to change what we're putting out on the internet to fit that audience.

4. Twitter is a very important resource to companies on the internet. Consumers can follow the company on Twitter so that when they post things about a sale or new product, consumers know and will be more likely to purchase for the store/company.

5. Products can find us as consumer via social sites with ads such as facebook and if we follow companies on twitter to find out about new products/sales. Using the information about the audience using the internet, companies can customize ads to fit the interests of the user.

1)The Internet gained users faster than the televison because it was much cheaper than the television. With the television a buyer would have to go out and buy a television set and then as they watched TV over time they would recieve an increase on their electric bill or cable bill. While the internet only required users to have an internet connection, even if they were on a public computer in a library.

2)Remifications for companies that offer music, video and other down loadable apps to customers would be that they may have a signifigant decreased in sales based on the publics taste because with people being able to download and share music with thier peers so quickly a certain genre of music may sell better than another.

3)The fastest growing market segment on Facebook are teenagers. Many people are begining to care about the information that is shared on facebook because this information can effect a persons ability to be hired by companies. Nowadays companies have the capablility to search possible candidates before hireing them to ensure they are making a good choice for an employee.

They could also instantly be notified of sales.

2. Ipod downloads hit 1billion in a nine month span. What do you think are the ramifications for companies that offer music, video and other down loadable apps to customers?

The ramifications of downloadable productes is based on the coustomers and there intersts...and the convienence to them at home.

4. Over 78% of people listen to people over social media for product reviews. Only about 14% of people trust advertisements now. This affects the ability of companies to sell products online and in retail stores accordingly.

1. With the Internet, you can get any information that you want right away. You can't choose what shows are playing on TV right now, but you can choose what show you want to watch on the Internet instantly using YouTube or Hulu. The Internet grew faster because people could find exactly what they wanted whenever they wanted to find it.
2. Sales for companies that offer downloadable music, videos, or apps will have huge growth as more and more people buy Ipods and want to buy stuff to download onto it. However, some people don't like how expensive it is to buy all the songs and apps you want, so use of illegal downloading sites as increased too.
3. The fastest growing market segment on Facebook is 55 to 65 year old women. This is important because business owners will want to create more online ads and products that appeal to middle aged women.
4. Twitter is important to online and retail stores because if people like a store, they'll post it on Twitter and business will improve. However, if they don't like a store, everyone on Twitter will see it and business will go down.
5. Products nowadays and in the future will find us through social media. Businesses are creating accounts on Twitter, Facebook, and other social media sites so that they can advertise to people online.
6. I think that a "people driven economy" means that people spread the word about products rather than companies themselves. Ads on tv or radio are basically useless now. If people like a product, everyone on Facebook or Twitter will find out about it. So it's really up to people using social media to advertise products.

2.The ramifications are good and bad, it can be positive with itunes where people have to pay for their downloads. but bad for artisits and companies that are getting ripped off by illegal downloaders.

3. 55-66 year old females are the fastest growing market segment on Facebook. because people who make ads on fb can see who they need to make the ads for.

4.It's important because they can get celebrities and people to talk about their store or products and SO MANY MORE people will see/read about it which could have a positive or a negative out come for that particular company.

5.Products will find us over sites like facebook and twitter because one person can talk about it and then everyone knows about it and will become more interested in it and will eventually want to look more into it and buy stuff.

6. I think that means that we drive the ecomony, like with out our opinions and experiences getting onto places like facebook and twitter, less people find out about it, but with the expansions of these sites more people will become aware of products and buy stuff and get the economy a boomin.

This is bad though because now people can illegaly download music from sharing sites instead of purchising it from the sites meaning that people are loosing money.

5. Products are even now being advertized on websites that we see everyday. So we might want that product even though we weren't looking for it.

3. The fastest growing market segment on Facebook is 55-65 year-old women. For someone who is concerned with online commerce, this is good for some companies, because their target audience may be 55-65 year-old women, so now they can invest more money into their online company site because more of their customers are online.

4. If someone says something bad about a product or company on Twitter, this can really hurt that company. People are more likely to listen to what their peers have to say and with their opinion being on Twitter, that means more than just their friends will see it. Anyone who is following that person will see what they have to say, and that could be hundreds of thousands. However, if someone likes a product or company and posts that on Twitter, that could really help the company!

5. With the huge amount of time people spend on the Internet nowadays, companies are investing more time and money into advertisements online. Whereever you go online, you're bound to see an advertisement of some sort. If you are trying to watch a video online, there will most likely be an ad before the video starts, and you are forced to watch that ad. You are then informed about maybe a new product, movie, or company.

Rather than pay for advertisements in newspapers and on TV, they could pay people to post good things about their product on Twitter. This would be especially successful if they could get a celebrity to indorse the product.
5. In the future, and a little bit now, products will find people on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites. By having advertisements in the sidebar on the Internet, they ensure more traffic than if they were to post the advertisements anywhere else.
6. "People Driven Economy" means that companies are trying to make products for specific groups of people. The decisions these groups make are the determining factor in which products are successful instead of people settling with whichever products are available.

1. The internet is alot easier to access across the world due to the differnt technologies used while tv costed alot more money when they first emerged. Information is found through the questions we ask instead of what answeres are given to us via television media.

2. Some ramifications for companies that offer music would be positive and negative. People love music therefore people will download music always but not neccessarily legally. Apple may get lots of money through music downloads but it will also lose many customers due tue the growing number of illegal music downloading sites. Wherever this is somewhere to buy something on the internet there will be always a way to get it for free.

3. The fastest growing segment on Facebook would be middle-agged women. This is important to commerce because companies will targert ceratian users with advertisments that will be of interest to that certatin segment.

6. A People Driven Economy means that people on social media or other websites as such will drive the frontier that companies will want to advertise too cause of their high interest in technology. When someone visits a seocial media website multiple times a day that is just a new oppurtunity for a company to advertise.

1.I think that television took 9 years longer than internet to reach 50 million users because computers were already available to some people and they could be used for more than entertainment. There is also more that you can do with the internet. All you can do with a TV is watch it, you can do anything on the internet.

2.Companies that offer downloadable items for their customers will pull in more revenue because the iPod is already something that everyone has, and it won't just pertain to certain peoples interest. The apps and other items are also a lot easier to get, so they will bring in revenue that way. Some negative ramifications that will result from these companies are a loss of money for some companies. A lot of people will lose money because since these products are electronic, they are easier to be copied and given out. Music stores and places like that will also lose money because their products will now be bought in other places.

3.The fastest growing market segment on facebook is women ages 55 to 65. This shows that everyone is now getting involved in this since it started with young people and is now grown to older people/

4.Companies now have to be more careful with their service and products because it is now easier for a bad review to be put out through twitter, and it reaches more people.

5.In the future, we will probably find products through the internet. Whether buying electronic products on the internet, or ordering them on the internet and having them sent to you.

6."People driven economy" Means that the people decide what they want to buy, and this determines the economy.
